Exhibition Bacon-Giacometti at the Fondation Beyeler museum

Museum Fondation Beyeler in the town of Riehen (Switzerland) holds an exhibition of two outstanding representatives of the modernism era: Alberto Giacometti and Francis Bacon.

British artist and Swiss sculptor met each other in the beginning of 1960s through their common friend, artist and muse Isabel Rawsthorne, whose portraits you can see at this exhibition.

This is the first time when works of Giacometti and Bacon are contrasted with each other, sometimes showing surprising similarities as well as differences. The main theme of Giacometti and Bacon is deformed, elongated and disfigured human body; both of them were working in the portrait genre to express individuality.

You can visit this exhibition from April, 29 until September 2018.
